HueIC organizes “Training of Trainers on Energy Auditing” course

On October 14, 2025, Hue Industrial College (HueIC) held the Opening Ceremony for the “Training of Trainers (ToT) on Energy Auditing” course. The program aims to enhance the quality of the teaching staff to effectively operate the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation at HueIC.

This initiative contributes to elevating HueIC’s position and solidifying its role as a hub for training and technology transfer in energy efficiency within the Central region, while strengthening cooperation with ministries, local authorities, and enterprises.

Attending the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan – Vice Rector of HueIC, shared: “Energy transition, Net-zero emissions, and improving energy efficiency are currently strategic priorities for the nation and the business community. In the context of fluctuating energy prices, competitive pressures, and increasingly strict legal compliance requirements, energy auditing is no longer just a mandatory procedure but has become a lever for optimizing costs, improving productivity, reducing emissions, and enhancing sustainable value for businesses. Parallel to this demand is the urgent need for a team of lecturers and trainers with standard competencies, capable of transferring knowledge and practical skills to Energy Auditors and Energy Managers across the region. Therefore, HueIC has pioneered the push to develop high-quality human resources to meet the needs of enterprises and society.”

Also at the ceremony, MSc. Ma Khai Hien – Director of the Energy Conservation Research and Development Center (ENERTEAM), affirmed that ENERTEAM is ready to accompany HueIC in training lecturers, transferring learning materials and standard measurement equipment, organizing practical sessions at enterprises, and connecting expert networks. This collaboration aims to expand energy auditing and consulting activities and develop the Regional Training Center at HueIC.

Participants and Course Content The course participants are primarily members of the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation at HueIC, serving as lecturers from the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. They have been selected as the core force to deploy the Center’s training and energy auditing activities, acting as key agents to disseminate modern energy management methods to other faculties, departments, and partner enterprises.

During the course, trainees will standardize their legal knowledge and auditing processes, practice measurement, data analysis, and identification of energy-saving opportunities on systems such as:

  • Refrigeration and HVAC systems;
  • Pumps, fans, and compressed air systems;
  • Boilers;
  • Electrical systems, motors, and lighting.

Subsequently, they will prepare audit reports and energy use plans in accordance with regulations.

Post-Course Outcomes Upon completion of the training, the participants are expected to assume the following roles:

  • Teaching and retraining within the college and for local localities/enterprises;
  • Participating in energy audit teams of HueIC and its partner network;
  • Developing courseware, practical exercises, and case studies suitable for conditions in the Central region;
  • Connecting enterprises and students to organize internships and applied projects;
  • Preparing for assessments according to regulations to qualify for the Energy Auditor Practice Certificate, contributing to enhancing the capacity and stature of the Regional Center located at HueIC

The ‘Training of Trainers on Energy Auditing’ course not only standardizes the competence of HueIC’s core team but also lays a solid foundation for the sustainable operation of the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation, fostering strong connections with enterprises and the community. The collaboration with ENERTEAM and professional partners ensures the program’s depth, enhances its practical applicability, and expands opportunities for research, consulting, and community service. With a systematically trained teaching staff, HueIC is ready to disseminate knowledge, drive effective energy transition in the region, and affirm its role as a leading hub for training and technology transfer
