On October 23, 2022, at Laguna Lang Co Golf Course, Hue Industrial College (HueIC) organized the “Swing for Students” (S4S) golf tournament. The event attracted over 60 amateur golfers from businesses, schools, and agencies across Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and other localities.

Accompanying HueIC in this tournament were generous sponsors:

  • Diamond Sponsors: Tien Thanh Investment – Architecture JSC and Hue Golf Club.
  • Gold Sponsors: Hanoi High-Tech Equipment Co., Ltd. and Thien Linh Trading Co., Ltd.
  • Silver Sponsor: Vietinbank – Thua Thien Hue Branch.
  • Bronze Sponsors: PVI Insurance Hue, Central Energy and Boiler JSC, and Hoang Quoc Co., Ltd.

Tournament Structure and Awards The tournament featured three divisions: two Men’s Divisions (A, B) and one Ladies’ Division, offering attractive awards including First, Second, and Third prizes for Groups A and B, and First Prize for the Ladies’ Group.

Technical prizes included:

  • Nearest to the Pin: At Hole 5 (Ladies) and Holes 8, 14 (Men).
  • Longest Drive: At Holes 3 and 18.
  • Hole-in-One Prizes: A Mercedes C200 at Hole 5 (sponsored by Tien Thanh Investment – Architecture JSC) and six prizes worth 100 million VND each at Holes 4, 14, and 19 (replacing Hole 11), sponsored by PVI Insurance Hue.

Purpose and Community Impact The tournament served as a sporting platform to strengthen ties between the college and enterprises, while simultaneously celebrating HueIC’s 123rd Establishment Anniversary (Sept 12, 1899), Vietnam Labor Skills Day (Oct 4), and Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (Oct 13).

The Organizing Committee dedicated a portion of the sponsorship funds to award scholarships to 66 disadvantaged students excelling in their studies and to carry out community support activities in Phu Duong Commune, Hue City. Specific activities included repairing motorbikes, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and other household appliances. This was a deeply meaningful initiative to join hands with residents affected by the floods from October 14–16, 2022.

Future Outlook Participants praised the tournament as a resounding success, leaving a lasting positive impression, with many golfers expressing hopes for its return next year. Sponsors also committed to continuing their companionship with HueIC in supporting students and the community.

Following this success, the “Swing for Students” Golf Tournament is expected to become an annual event organized by HueIC. It aims to create a healthy sports playground and implement meaningful activities for the school, businesses, learners, and the community

Graduation Ceremony for over 300 new HueIC Practice Engineers

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Hue Industrial College (HueIC) solemnly held the Graduation Ceremony for 394 new Practice Engineers.

Having gone through a journey of academic dedication, honing professional competence, mastering technology, and cultivating a global mindset, HueIC’s new Practice Engineers will now officially enter the labor market, ready to contribute to society and the economy.

The 2025 Graduation Ceremony serves as an occasion for the College to recognize the efforts and achievements of students across all aspects—academics, scientific research, and extracurricular activities—throughout their time at the school. This event also stands as a significant milestone marking their maturity: concluding their academic journey to embark on and conquer their future career paths

Beyond recognizing academic achievements, the ceremony also introduced articulation and joint training programs with the presence of representatives from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), opening pathways for graduates to further their education and professional qualifications.

Additionally, a representative from the HUEIC-Sakico Center shared insights on overseas employment orientation, clearly demonstrating the College’s strategic vision in expanding career opportunities for students in the international labor market

Hue City Leadership visits and congratulates HueIC on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nov 20)

     This morning, to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), a delegation of Hue City leaders led by Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan – Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Council – visited, presented flowers, and offered congratulations to Hue Industrial College

     Welcoming the delegation on behalf of Hue Industrial College were:

  • Mr. Le Van Luan – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council, and Vice Rector;
  • Mr. Tran Huu Chau Giang – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Rector;
  • Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan – Member of the Standing Party Committee and Vice Rector.

During the visit, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan extended his warmest wishes to the entire faculty, staff, and employees of the college. He also acknowledged Hue Industrial College’s efforts in maintaining training quality, innovating curricula, and enhancing vocational skills

HueIC launches “Community Support 2025” activity series for post-flood recovery in Hue City

Hue Industrial College (HueIC) was not only affected by the recent historic flooding but also stood as a pioneering force, joining hands with local residents to overcome these hardships. Even before the floodwaters had fully receded, the College urgently undertook recovery efforts while simultaneously launching a meaningful series of activities titled “HueIC – Community Support 2025”.

The program is being implemented in collaboration with the Hue City Youth Union, the City’s Rapid Response Team, and numerous organizations and individuals in the automotive and motorcycle sectors from neighboring localities, such as Dong A University (Da Nang), among others

1. Free Maintenance and Repair for Flooded Motorbikes Starting from the afternoon of October 30, 2025, on the college campus, this activity quickly attracted significant attention from the public.

The College is also coordinating with the automotive specialist team to receive and assist with flooded car cases within its technical capabilities.

Approximately 1,300 motorbikes were received by 18:00 on October 31, 2025.

400 vehicles have been fully serviced, ensuring operational safety.

Over 1,000 vehicles are continuously being processed by the technical team around the clock (day and night).

Support services include: Checking electrical systems and engines, oil changes, cleaning air filters and brake systems, and providing consultation on post-flood maintenance…

2. Free Repair of Electrical, Electronic, and Refrigeration Appliances Time: November 01 – November 03, 2025 at Hue Industrial College (70 Nguyen Hue, Hue City).

Residents can bring their damaged appliances to the college for inspection and technical restoration, helping to minimize property losses following the natural disaster.

3. Mobile Teams for On-Site Repair of Refrigeration Appliances in Deeply Flooded Areas Starting from 13:00 on November 01, 2025, mobile teams were deployed to severely affected zones, providing direct assistance to households unable to transport their appliances to the campus

Upcoming Planned Activities

  • Distributing medicines and providing preventive health consultations to approximately 500 households.
  • Raising awareness on post-flood environmental sanitation, providing guidance on treating organic waste and water sources, and preventing disease outbreaks.
  • Providing financial support and daily necessities to 100–200 severely affected households and disadvantaged students.

The College will continue to update information regarding the implementation of these activities in the coming time.

HueIC Trade Union hosts “WOMEN IN TVET: Digital Skills – Digital Pedagogy – Digital Leadership” Workshop

To celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union, on the afternoon of October 19, 2025, the Trade Union of Hue Industrial College (HueIC) successfully organized the workshop titled “Women in TVET: Digital Skills – Digital Pedagogy – Digital Leadership”.

The event aimed to pay tribute to and honor the contributions of female faculty, staff, and employees in teaching, research, and community service. Simultaneously, it provided updates on trends in digital skills, digital pedagogy, and digital leadership within the context of digital transformation in vocational education (TVET).

Attending the workshop were:

  • Mr. Le Van Luan – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council, and Vice Rector;
  • Mr. Tran Tien Dung – Chairman of the College Trade Union;
  • Along with all female officials and employees of the college.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Le Van Luan highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the female workforce. He affirmed that the college would continue to create favorable conditions for women to promote their leadership roles and foster innovation in vocational education aligned with digital transformation.

Also at the workshop, Dr. Thai Huynh Phuong Lan from Ton Duc Thang University presented on “Gender Equality in the Digital Era.” Her presentation focused on analyzing new opportunities and challenges for women in teaching, research, and administration, while suggesting policy recommendations to promote gender equality in vocational education institutions in the current digital age.

The presentations by two speakers from HueIC – MSc. Duong Ngoc Duy and MSc. Dau Thi Thanh Nga (Faculty of Information Technology & Digital Economy) – provided attendees with practical knowledge and skills regarding the application of AI tools in teaching and research. The shared content helped lecturers optimize the process of compiling lectures and developing detailed syllabi more quickly, conveniently, and effectively.

Although the “Women in TVET: Digital Skills – Digital Pedagogy – Digital Leadership” workshop has concluded, the resonance of knowledge and the spirit of honoring HueIC women continue to spread. The College and the Trade Union are committed to fostering an equitable environment that encourages innovation, empowering every female official, lecturer, and staff member to constantly enhance their digital capabilities, digital pedagogy, and digital leadership. Together, they will join hands to drive HueIC’s sustainable development in the era of digital transformation

HueIC organizes “Training of Trainers on Energy Auditing” course

On October 14, 2025, Hue Industrial College (HueIC) held the Opening Ceremony for the “Training of Trainers (ToT) on Energy Auditing” course. The program aims to enhance the quality of the teaching staff to effectively operate the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation at HueIC.

This initiative contributes to elevating HueIC’s position and solidifying its role as a hub for training and technology transfer in energy efficiency within the Central region, while strengthening cooperation with ministries, local authorities, and enterprises.

Attending the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan – Vice Rector of HueIC, shared: “Energy transition, Net-zero emissions, and improving energy efficiency are currently strategic priorities for the nation and the business community. In the context of fluctuating energy prices, competitive pressures, and increasingly strict legal compliance requirements, energy auditing is no longer just a mandatory procedure but has become a lever for optimizing costs, improving productivity, reducing emissions, and enhancing sustainable value for businesses. Parallel to this demand is the urgent need for a team of lecturers and trainers with standard competencies, capable of transferring knowledge and practical skills to Energy Auditors and Energy Managers across the region. Therefore, HueIC has pioneered the push to develop high-quality human resources to meet the needs of enterprises and society.”

Also at the ceremony, MSc. Ma Khai Hien – Director of the Energy Conservation Research and Development Center (ENERTEAM), affirmed that ENERTEAM is ready to accompany HueIC in training lecturers, transferring learning materials and standard measurement equipment, organizing practical sessions at enterprises, and connecting expert networks. This collaboration aims to expand energy auditing and consulting activities and develop the Regional Training Center at HueIC.

Participants and Course Content The course participants are primarily members of the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation at HueIC, serving as lecturers from the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. They have been selected as the core force to deploy the Center’s training and energy auditing activities, acting as key agents to disseminate modern energy management methods to other faculties, departments, and partner enterprises.

During the course, trainees will standardize their legal knowledge and auditing processes, practice measurement, data analysis, and identification of energy-saving opportunities on systems such as:

  • Refrigeration and HVAC systems;
  • Pumps, fans, and compressed air systems;
  • Boilers;
  • Electrical systems, motors, and lighting.

Subsequently, they will prepare audit reports and energy use plans in accordance with regulations.

Post-Course Outcomes Upon completion of the training, the participants are expected to assume the following roles:

  • Teaching and retraining within the college and for local localities/enterprises;
  • Participating in energy audit teams of HueIC and its partner network;
  • Developing courseware, practical exercises, and case studies suitable for conditions in the Central region;
  • Connecting enterprises and students to organize internships and applied projects;
  • Preparing for assessments according to regulations to qualify for the Energy Auditor Practice Certificate, contributing to enhancing the capacity and stature of the Regional Center located at HueIC

The ‘Training of Trainers on Energy Auditing’ course not only standardizes the competence of HueIC’s core team but also lays a solid foundation for the sustainable operation of the Central Region Center for Training on Energy Efficiency and Conservation, fostering strong connections with enterprises and the community. The collaboration with ENERTEAM and professional partners ensures the program’s depth, enhances its practical applicability, and expands opportunities for research, consulting, and community service. With a systematically trained teaching staff, HueIC is ready to disseminate knowledge, drive effective energy transition in the region, and affirm its role as a leading hub for training and technology transfer
